A Kempton Park travel agent, who stands accused of 91 counts of fraud, will have other pending cases against him joined to the charges he already faces.
Sipho Sithembiso Msomi, 36, will go on trial in the Pietermaritzburg regional court on July 18.
He appeared in court for the adjournment, dressed smartly in a black suit, pale green shirt and black tie.
The fraud allegedly involved more than R20-million and pertained to the use of spy software on computers in several government departments.
Msomi was already awaiting-trial for allegedly defrauding the South African Social Security Agency of nearly R2-million.
Msomi, a computer expert, was named during his bail application in the Pietermaritzburg magistrate's court last month as a key role-player in a massive syndicate that has been defrauding state departments in KwaZulu-Natal of vast sums of money over the past two-and-a-half years.
The court heard that Msomi facilitated the theft of huge amounts of money by installing "spy software" on computers in government departments, which was used to access user identities and passwords of employees.
He is charged with defrauding the education, housing, agriculture, arts and culture and public works departments, as well as the SA Social Security Agency, which handles government grants.
Msomi was arrested previously on similar charges by the Scorpions and pleaded guilty in the Durban commercial crimes court in June 2006.
He was sentenced to five years' imprisonment, wholly suspended. He faces a lengthy jail term if convicted.
