Racism, doctrine, belief, or assumption that inherited biological differences cause some human subpopulations to be fundamentally different from, or superior to, others. (MSN Encarta). I agree that all cultures are different, but not because of color, it's due to one's environment. Italians are different from the Irish, just as Blacks are different from Whites. We all breathe the same air and have basically the same goals in life, yet we achieve them with our own techniques. I believe everyone should be proud of their heritage; I do not believe people of any race should be teaching hate or acting upon it.

By now most people know who Lamb and Lynx Gaede are. They are 13-year-old twins who croon about racism. Granted, people have the constitutional right to sing about whatever they want. Rap artists occasionally sing about disrespecting women and sometimes about killing cops. Now we've got these two young girls praising Hitler in song. Nobody wants to be reminded of the atrocities that took place under Hitler's command. Yet, these children have been taught to praise and honor him as a respectable man.

As a white woman, I am greatly offended when white racists groups try to represent the white population. Whenever I see these Aryan groups on television, I keep seeing the same type of people over and over; they're what I would call rednecks or skinheads. These people do not represent my family or me. Not only do I disagree with Nazi attitudes, but violence in general.

This problem also occurs within the black community. I cannot understand why, after they fought so hard to become integrated, they have decided to segregate themselves. Black women may participate in Miss America pageants, but white women may not participate in their all-black Miss America pageants. They have their own television, music and movie awards, BET, Ebony and so on. Segregating themselves indicates their discontent for white culture. If predominantly white pageants barred black women from entering the contest, blacks everywhere would be screaming racism as they did in the past. So, isn't what's good for the goose good for the gander?

Music is a great influence on teens and you don't really hear white performers (unless they are rap artist or white supremacist), creating negative lyrics as much as you do in black music, here's an example of a hate rap song: "Niggas in the church say: kill whitey all night long. .. the white man is the devil. . . . the CRIPS and Bloods are soldiers I'm recruiting with no dispute; drive-by shooting on this white genetic mutant. . . . let's go and kill some rednecks. . . .Menace Clan ain't afraid. . . . I got the .380; the homies think I'm crazy because I shot a white baby; I said; I said; I said: kill whitey all night long. . . . ; "Kill Whitey"; --Menace Clan, Da Hood, 1995, Rap-A-Lot Records, Noo Trybe Records, subsidiaries of what was called Thorn EMI and now is called The EMI Group, United Kingdom. Unfortunately, I had to delete part of the lyrics due to it's graphic language. Though this is a song from 1995, it's a true example of how some blacks regard whites.

How are bi-racial individuals affected by all this hate and discontent? Interracial couples still endure stares and rude comments, but sadly enough, the children they produce are the true victims. Sometimes a bi-racial person will not be accepted by either race and the children are confused as to who their friends should be. Children have it the hardest; they are called names and chastised by their peers. When I was in high school at the end of the 70's, early 80's, there was one interracial girl in the whole school. She first dated a white boy then later a black boy; she was confused and some other students didn't want her in their groups (both black and white).

All in all, hate still exists and everyone has the freedom to feel as they wish; they do not have the right to break the law. Killing, torturing or verbally attacking one another will never solve anything. The rest of the world is tired of being in the middle of these attacks and do not want such people representing us.
